Northport Storm Damage Ruins Floor

The Before Photo shows the water damage left behind after severe weather in Northport. The homeowner contacted SERVPRO to clean up the water that entered the home. The technicians used their equipment to determine that seepage occurred under the tile floor, and it required removal to dry the substrate underneath. Upon scoping the rest of the room, SERVPRO techs discovered that water absorbed into the carpet on the staircase. As seen in the After Photo, they removed the carpet and then used their extraction equipment to pull as much embedded moisture as possible out of the wood. This action during water restoration helps lessen the drying time needed along with the use of professional equipment such as high-velocity air movers and dehumidifiers.
